Trump Administration Floats Tokenized Land Plan for Post-War Gaza

A controversial proposal reportedly circulating within the Trump administration outlines a post-war Gaza redevelopment plan that involves tokenizing land ownership and relocating residents through digital tokens under a potential U.S. trusteeship.

According to The Washington Post, the 38-page prospectus — titled the Gaza Reconstitution, Economic Acceleration and Transformation Trust (GREAT Trust) — envisions the United States assuming control of Gaza for at least a decade.

Digital Tokens for Land and Relocation

The plan proposes offering Gaza’s 2 million residents “voluntary” relocation in exchange for digital land tokens.

  • Each resident would receive a specialized token representing their property.

  • Tokens could be redeemed for cash, temporary housing subsidies, or apartments in up to eight planned “AI-powered smart cities.”

  • Palestinians leaving the territory would receive $5,000, rent subsidies for four years, and food assistance for one year.

The document suggests that returns from token sales could be reinvested into a Palestinian Wealth Fund, but also notes that relocation is more “cost-effective” than rebuilding housing, estimating a $23,000 saving per relocated resident.

Blockchain Registry and Investor Speculation

At the heart of the plan is a blockchain-based land registry that would tokenize Gaza’s territory into tradable assets.

  • Tokens could be sold to investors and traded on secondary markets.

  • The system promises “fractional ownership” and “enhanced liquidity,” allowing outside speculation to help fund reconstruction.

  • All transactions would be permanently recorded on-chain.

Critics, however, warn that such a scheme amounts to digitized land seizure. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) condemned it as “morally abhorrent” and a violation of international law, calling it “a war crime of historic proportions.”

Smart Cities and Mega Projects

The proposal goes further, laying out an ambitious vision for Gaza’s future under U.S. oversight:

  • Construction of six to eight modern, AI-driven smart cities.

  • Development of ten mega-projects, including ports, a highway, a railway, an AI datacenter, artificial resort islands, and an “Elon Musk Smart Manufacturing Zone.”

The plan’s authors argue this could transform Gaza into a hub of “digital innovation and economic opportunity,” rebranding it as the “Riviera of the Middle East.”

Trump’s Crypto Ties and Political Context

The blockchain-driven plan comes as U.S. President Donald Trump deepens his ties to the crypto industry. In February, Trump publicly stated that the U.S. should “take over Gaza” and rebuild it as a global destination.

The proposal, reportedly crafted by individuals behind the U.S.- and Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, reflects the administration’s willingness to merge geopolitics, blockchain, and real estate tokenization into a bold — and highly controversial — policy experiment.
